In today's highly competitive job market, creating the right video resume really allows you to stand out from the crowd. Your traditional resume outlines your employment history and relevant skills, while your video really helps a potential employer to see if you are the right fit for the company.
Getting it right can be pretty tough, but put in a little effort and you will have a much better chance at reaping the rewards. We've put together some advice and a guide to creating the perfect account and profile on our EmployMeet site.
CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT:
Firstly you need to create an account.
Make sure you add a REAL FULL name and relevant details, otherwise employers can not find you among our candidates. Your name will only be seen by employers and is kept private from the public website.
Next go to your PROFILE tab and follow these VERY IMPORTANT steps.
Make sure you include your contact details (see below image)
Then add no more than 2 paragraphs, or 100 words about yourself.
Click on the video icon and insert the link to your video profile.
YOUR SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Next, below your video, add no more than 10 of your key skills and attributes.
Your resume can only be added as images at this stage (we are working on improving this) so you will need to have the key pages of your resume saved as images or copy and paste the text to the profile page. You can add as many images as you wish, so go for GOLD and add some samples of your work or
PUBLISH YOUR PROFILE:
Don't forget to publish your profile to ensure all your hard work is saved to allow employers to view YOU!
